Master baths… and laundry!

So, this is the first time, in a long time, that I just don’t have any inspiration or ideas to share with you!

I generally prep the ideas for the week’s posts on Sunday PM, and then fill in details and finish the posts before they publish…  It helps me organize my thoughts and makes the weeknight prep minimal.

But, Saturday and Sunday, I overdid it… I am starting this week with no energy left and I’m pretty sure without a coherent thought in my head.

So, here an article that I’ve been flipping through aimlessly, contemplating pinning to a board on Pinterest (but probably won’t, since that takes energy and thought!).

Here’s hoping you’re starting your Monday with a little more energy and brain power!

Might have to see if I can talk the handsome hubby into an egg sandwich to-go for some fuel to get through the morning!

Happy Thursday, y’all!

Nursery Organization

So, I’ve tried to be organized with how I’ve put things away in the nursery…

The biggest success was getting the 8 drawer dresser to fit, which gave us lots of storage and organization options!

All of the clothes and bedding are currently stored in the bottom 4 dresser, diapers and medical/diapering are in the top 4 with blankets, burp clothes and toys being stored in the closet.

Clothes are organized into drawer organizers by size and by item type (Baby H is going to be a fashionista for sure!)…

Socks, hats, bibs are easily accessible along the top- next to diapers, wipes and medical supplies…

Bigger sizes are organized the same way in lower drawers- ready to be moved into action, as needed!

Stuffed animals are hanging out in my mom’s bassinet (gift from Grammy!).  It’s held all generations of the current Bjorndal/Bullamore/Mead families- now we can add Hanna to that (as soon as we clear out the toys!).

I used 3 sets of these SKUBB organizers from IKEA ($7.99) for the drawers.  Perfect sizes for everything from clothes to bibs to medical supplies!

The closet has shelving on the left that holds shoes (her first UGGS compliments of GiGi!), extra blankets and some ‘mom stuff’ (shopping cart covers, breastfeeding pillows, carriers, etc).  There are additional blankets and burp clothes in the white baskets, pretty dresses hanging and extra diaper storage on the top shelf.

So that’s the basic overview.  Everything is pretty close together, easy to get to one-handed and divided (as much as possible!) by size.  I figure we’ll need to ‘live’ in the space for a little while before I make adjustments and see what works and what doesn’t!  At least everything is unpacked, organized and easily accessible.  And, Baby H won’t be living in a dresser drawer for several weeks!

Hope this was helpful, or at least somewhat interesting.. or, if neither, come back tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

Nursery Reveal~

I know you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seats..

As have I…

I keep having dreams that Baby H makes an early appearance and we have to keep her in a dresser drawer for weeks, until we can finish the nursery…

Fortunately, that’s not the case and I am SO happy with how things came together!

I think I’m going to divide this into 3 different posts: pictures, some organization, details on what we bought/where

If you have any other questions, just ask!

What do you think?

And yes, it is impossible to take pictures in my house without an animal photo-bomb!  Gabby makes a point of sleeping on all freshly laundered things in the nursery… I’m keeping a mental list of what needs to be re-washed :-)

Holy SNOW!

So, here I sit with my feet up sipping coffee… because there is no way I’m getting to work today!

Thank god for laptops and internet, which makes it a little easier to keep up with things!

We arrived back in Boston last night, only to find that the snowplows had never made it to our street, and not only had they not made it to our street, but they actually plowed in the ends!  Craziness, Boston, Craziness.

We ended up parking a little more than a block from our house, the first place we could find that was kinda off the main street and trudging through almost waist high snow (with 3 dogs) to get home last night at 10pm.  While Brian climbed the rest of the way to the house (I got to a small clearing and stopped!), I got on the phone with the mayor’s office to complain.  And, let me tell you, nobody complains like a freezing-cold, standing in the snow with 3 dogs, 8 months pregnant woman.  I think I had the guy on the hotline in tears, too!

So, he promised action today, and in the meantime, we sit and wait.  At least we have power…

Here’s the progression of our trip yesterday…

And, our house.  The road in front of our house.  And a $hit-ton of snow!

So, today will be a little different then I imagined, and I’ll be back tomorrow with some more shower recaps, etc!

XO, Mer
